Lichen striatus
A benign, self-limiting, dermatitis characterized by a unilateral, linear
popular eruption on the extremities of children. This is descrete, and confluent
lichenoid papules arranged linearly displaying a delicate silvery edge. Colour
is pink in fair skinned individual and hypopigmented in dark skinned individuals.
It is an asymptomatic self limiting disorder of short duation that may last
up to one year. If the patient or guardian is very worried low potency steroid
for two weeks may be used.
