Precocious puberty
It is an early (before 8 years in girls and 9 years in boys) puberty with normal
progression of sexual maturity. The clinical presentations could be Gonadotropin-dependent
precocious puberty , Gonadotropin-independent precocious puberty or Incomplete
precocious puberty. Gonadotropin-dependent precocious puberty is associated
with accelerated linear growth for age, advanced bone ages and increased levels
of follicle stimulating hormone ,luteinizing hormone, estradiol, and testosterone.
Gonadotropin-independent precocious puberty is associated with suppressed FSH
and LH levels and increased oestrogen or testesterone. There are various causes
and Hamartoma is one of them.
