Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia :

This rare condition is seen in 1:5,000 live births. Commonly it is seen on the left side. It is often associated with pulmonary hypoplasia and malrotation of the intestine. It is important to examine these children for other congenital anamolies. It is often present in trisomies. Most of this condition is diagnosed due to the presence of severe respiratory distress.
